The Many Benefits of Having an Executive Coach

Benefits of Having an Executive Coach

By Joan Nwasike, PMC-LLC Coach

A new offering this year for Practice Management Consultants, LLC is our Senti℠ Executive Coaching Masterclasses.  Dr. Joan Nwasike, PhD, MBA, MA, BSIM, CPC will be overseeing and leading this venture as a new member of our PMC-LLC Coaching team.  In this article, she explains why she became an Executive Coach and a little insight into what her philosophy is as a coach.

Coaching is a rewarding profession, and after more than 35 years in the C-Suite and Senior Management in Public and Private Sectors, International Development and Academe, I felt like giving back to the community by sharing my knowledge, experience, and skills with persons in leadership and other senior management positions.

Becoming a Certified Executive Coach led me to agree that a coach is a special person who inspires and uses his/her experience and knowledge from other professions to guide others through their challenges and opportunities.[1]

My coaching philosophy is honesty, values, and positive results, and I practice coaching as a ‘Trusted and Thought Partner.’  This philosophy and my practice as a coach have attracted many clients who value confidentiality and are results driven.  So far, I have had tremendous success in coaching clients successfully and feel a sense of gratitude when I receive glowing public written recommendations.  For example:

“Dr. Nwasike coached me through a challenging transition to online instruction at my University, Huston Tillotson University.  Joan was an incredible change management coach! She provided a wealth of insights relevant to my situation.  Each session, she gave me management models and tools that I used to directly address my main challenges, and then she helped me assess the success of each of these in the next session. She also offered specific feedback on my management style and strengths and gave me a framework for continuing the work.  As a Professor, I especially appreciated how Joan modeled the type of techniques I could use in my communications with my team.  Joan helped me recognize my strengths and build on them and gave me the confidence to expand my skill set to address gaps. I give her my highest recommendation as an executive coach!”
